Having problems exporting an image sequence from PS. I opened a psd file with layers, selected all the layers and File>Export, etc. All I get is one psd. Tried to bring in AE as an image sequence it is only 1 frame and merged image.

Please help, thanks.

If you save the file as a .psd in Photoshop then import that file into your PPro project you are given some import options. If you import as individual layers your layer structure is retained but as separate image files. (Tricky to explain so try it and hopefully it will make sense :-D )

Yes, it will import the layers. However, I am trying to import an image sequence from those layers. Guess I will go back to exporting the layers as files, rename, and then import in AE as an image sequence from the files. Thanks.

I don't see the animation panel in that screenshot. Did you remember to show the animation panel and make frames from layers? If you didn't, you'll export just one file.

Display the animation palette by clicking on animation in the Window menu item.

The animation palette can be in two modes -- timeline and frame animation. You want frame animation. If you click on the animation palette menu button, if you are in frame animation you will see a menu item "convert to timeline". If you see "convert to frame animation", you are in timeline mode and need to click that item.

Make frames from layers is in the animation palette menu. Click on that and you should see the animation palette populate with thumbnail images, one per frame. Photoshop orders the frames from bottom to top. If you have them arranged top to bottem, you'll need to click on reverse frames, also in the animation palette menu. Note: when you make frames from layers the eye icon will turn off for every layer except the bottom. That's normal. Leave it that way. Also, look at the time duration underneath each frame thumbnail. It should say 0 seconds. Change it if it doesn't. Otherwise you'll render out more than one image per frame.

File>export>Render to Video... should work now and generate the sequence files.

No. #-o Thanks Bob! And John for posting the help page. I did read that inside PS, but must have skipped over the animation panel section. Thanks.
