Miniature Series 2017 part 1

Postby momoffduty » Sun Aug 06, 2017 4:00 pm

Summer and the kids love the miniature series. A new model that just turned 1 wanted in the photo too. The first two photos. I have 2 more yet to edit.

Those must take a lot of planning and work to get just right. Really cool! :TU:

Mom these are too cool. They look like Hallmark cards. Your work is reminiscent of Anne Geddes. Both pictures look so lifelike and real. very very cool. Looking forward to the next two images.

Thanks everyone! I did put more planning in this year's set. I shot the 4 backgrounds multiple angles and truck positions a few weeks before. Next I picked the best angle of each and drew sketches of how I wanted to pose. Of course when the week came to shoot the models it was triple digits outside so I shot their photos in the living room. My nephew grew a foot since last year and had to get the step ladder out to get a good angle. I did his photos with just his mom helping and I think he was less apprehensive then if we had an audience. He did moan a bit with the wardrobe changes. This year I tried more masculine poses with him and he was happy with that. I think his Mom wanted more smiling at the camera shots and he was relieved when I told her he could not have fairy wings. I did later in the week take Mother/Son photos so she was happy. Had to work around nap times for the girls. With a house full for 10 days I needed a few naps. :-8

Here is a fairy one I did a few months ago

I really like it. SO well done. All that hard work really paid off. I think if I tried to do that all my talent would have mad faces because I would have been yelling to get them in place lol....Very very cool. Thank you for sharing

Thanks TreeTops & Sidd. Haha Sidd there was no yelling. With children there is a small window of opportunity. I did model their poses which is easier than telling them. Then I only had to move an arm or foot. I placed an object for them to look at to place their gaze with the book photo. I took a Creative Live class on posing families and children a few months ago. Great tips on how to communicate.
