YouTube Upload Failure

Postby DrDtMM » Tue Mar 06, 2012 10:29 am

I have successfully created 35+ YouTube videos by editing (with Premiere Elements 10) full-length symphonic wind ensemble concert videos on DVD. Recently, I have had the following happen: The process apparently runs to completion, but an error message appears indicating that the Upload has failed..."try again later". At this very moment, I am on my third try (each taking more than two hours) to upload to YouTube an 11-minute video. Any idea why this should suddenly have become a problem? I am not having any hardware or Internet problems of which I am aware. Until this particular video, and since the upload problems began a few days ago, the few YouTube upload failures have succeeded on the second try. Environment: XP professional, Premiere Elements 10.

Hi Dan & Welcome to Muvipix! It could be your internet connection or the traffic on YT. Was it a different time of day when you previously successfully uploaded videos?

There are also imposed limits on the size and length of the file you upload. Strangely, these limits are different if you upload directly than if you upload from the program.

Try creating your file to your hard drive and uploading manually. (This can often give superior results.)

From the Share tab, choose Computer and then QuickTime/MOV. Choose the DV preset and then click the Advanced button.

From the settings window, do the following:

Video Tab
*Video Codec: H.264
*Quality: 100
*Frame Wdith: 1280
*Frame Height: 720
*Frame Rate: 29.97
*Field Type: Progressive
*Pixel Aspect Ratio: square
*Set Bitrate: checked
*Bitrate: 8000 kbps

\Audio Tab
*Audio Code: AAC
*Output Channels: Stereo
*Frequency: 44kHz

Thanks, Steve. I'll try doing it that way. I certainly can't afford the time to have it fail again.
