Problem with File ImportHi,
When I try to import a video clip into AE I get following message. The clip is captured from HDV-split and has thr format m2t. Has anyone any explanation ? Regard Thomas You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Problem with File ImportIs this a trial version? The MPEG codec is not included with the trial and so .m2t would not be supported.
Re: Problem with File ImportI have CS4-ver of AE and not trial-ver. In the help doc under Import/video and animation formats "-MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 formats: MPEG, MPE, MPG, M2V, MPA, MP2, M2A, MPV, M2P, M2T, M2TS (AVCHD), AC3, MP4, M4V, M4A". That is the reason that I wonder.

Re: Problem with File ImportHi Thomas,
You might want to re-install the software, this should not be happening. Have you just started using it or have you had the program working previously? 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Problem with File ImportWas your AE CS4 ever installed as a trial version? There is a known issue that affected some people where converting a trial to a production version and then installing the update to 9.02 didn't properly install the third party content module (which contains the licensed codecs). If so, there is an entry in add/remove programs for the third party content module and you can uninstall that and restart AE CS4. It should reinstall the module.
If not, then I'd go with Chuck and try reinstalling AE CS4. Be sure to deactivate before you uninstall. I don't believe that all flavors of AVCHD were supported in CS4. Some cameras and variations came after that version was released.
Re: Problem with File ImportHere is a quote from Dave at Creative Cow that he posts often:
Dave's Stock Answer #1: If the footage you imported into AE is any kind of the following -- footage in an HDV acquisition codec, MPEG1, MPEG2, AVCHD, mp4, mts, m2t, H.261 or H.264 -- you need to convert it to a different codec. These kinds of footage use temporal, or interframe compression. They have keyframes at regular intervals, containing complete frame information. However, the frames in between do NOT have complete information. Interframe codecs toss out duplicated information. In order to maintain peak rendering efficiency, AE needs complete information for each and every frame. But because these kinds of footage contain only partial information, AE freaks out, resulting in a wide variety of problems. I'm a Mac guy, so I like to convert to Quicktime movies in the Animation or PNG codecs; both are lossless. I'll use Apple's Compressor, Adobe Media Encoder or Quicktime Pro to do it. aka Cheryl

Re: Problem with File ImportThanks all for your kindness,
I unistalled AE and reinstalled it again. After I import a m2t clip without problem ! I haven´t try to import such clip earlier. From beginning I installed AE as a part of Master Collection. Thus, no trial version. Thanks again Thomas
Re: Problem with File ImportGlad to hear that it is working now Thomas
