Brainstorming: Creative ideas for morphs imported into AE

Postby Wheat King » Mon Jan 18, 2010 9:11 pm

Some ideas I had floating around but havn't experiment with yet. To the this point I've done about a half dozen morphs with fantamorph 4 of them with transparency and then imported into premiere elements and worked on a flat (getting boring) display.

So far I've got
camera slowly circles around the morph in 2.5D space
A reflection of the morph

Gotta be some other cool ideas out there.

How about import morph sequence as separate images and fly through them in 3d space.

Apply to background rather than foreground as a transition. E.G. night to day, plains to mountains, etc..

Great ideas! I'll not think about this. Ideas usually pop into my head when I am not trying to think about ideas.

For reflections I have been using the Free preset from Video CoPilot. A big time saver, no need to duplicate comp or add a mask, etc.

The other presets are very good too:

You've got to visit Video Copilot more often. Andrew has released a free plugin to replace the preset that's much better. The plugin is in the project download on the tutorial page. While you're there, be sure to watch the tutorial to see how to use it.

He has another free plugin to control the AE camera. Look at that one too.

The new refection plug in is the one I have been using. And will check out the Sure Target 2, I use the first one now. Can't keep up with all of this ](*,)

Thanks Bob for the heads up.

Idea 1: Create a page flip in AE using the image sequences. Could play with the comp's frame rate.

Idea 2: Create dominoes with each image. The camera follows along above the dominoes as they fall. This may be too busy and create motion sickness.

Idea 3: Create a 3D space with photos in frames placed around the comp. The last photo plays as an image sequence. Since the slideshow starts with photos, the ending photo would be a surprise morph.

This video has a page flip/tear off at the 52 sec mark
