Can both PE 7 and PE 8 be on the same computer?

I am currently using PE 7. Can I have both PE 8 and PE 7 installed on my computer at the same time? I was thinking of buying the download for 8. Will it affect 7?

I bought Steve's two books and I don't really need version 8, but I would like to check out the clip art stuff and a few other things. I've got a bit of spare cash so it might be fun. I'll buy it on Amazon.ca because it's cheaper than downloading. Also, they were charging ~$12 tax US.... humph... weird.
