I've also been running PE7 with Windows 7 on a Q6600 Quad Core with 6 GB (and, as of last night, 8GB) of RAM. It was an upgrade from Vista. No issues here.

Thanks very much, Russ!

I think I'm going to go with PrEl 7 once I can get my hands on a copy. I found a PE/PrEl 7 combo on eBay for about $30 and it says it hasn't been activated, but I'm always leery about that. :)

Hi Peru,

Well, not really sure there IS one...but the seller's feedback is 100% good with over 2000 feedbacks. I looked and others sang his praises and mentioned how the activation key is present and he's legit.

He had already sold 23 and there were more than 10 left, so I took the chance and bought it for $30.

Worse case scenario...and there's no activation key, I file a dispute with Paypal and give him negative feedback. He has 100% positive feedback so methinks he can't afford any negative.

For $30 for both software, it's a pretty good deal.

He's also selling other software at good prices. No boxes, no manuals, etc....JUST the disks and the activation key so should be okay. :)

The copies may not be legitimate and he may be including the keygen software to generate a licence key.

Oh, I've never heard of a keygen software. I definitely didn't mean to do (or contribute to) anything illegal, but of course, I also know that argument is pretty weak as well. :(

I was curious about the mention of keygen software and found this:

It's great to see all of these threads on different versions of PE. I keep seeing PE7 is better than PE8 and I can agree with that, but where does one obtain PE7 these days?

Thank you

I've tried PRE8, 9 and 10 and none runs even slightly as well as 7 on the Win7 64-bit machine in my signature (but Chuck and others say 10 runs well on their particular machines).

Apart from running perfectly, both PRE and PSE 7 have features that I use regularly but that are missing in subsequent versions.

IMO, copies of the 7 bundle in their original shrink-wrap are destined to become valuable collectors' items for the following reason: Adobe's best ever Elements bundle.

Right now the only way is to go to eBay and take your chances. While 30 is a great price, I was able to order PrEl and PE 10 through the Muvipix site for $75. I haven't installed it yet, but I thought that was a great price. Take a look and see where the pricing is today. Version 10 is getting solid reviews from the users here. It made me update my Version 7.
