Re: Getting ready for version 8Just how often do Adobe release new versions? I have only just purchased version 7, have I jumped on the bus too early
Re: Getting ready for version 8They have been very consistent in releasing a new version every year around October.
That has been the case for 5 or 6 years now. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Getting ready for version 8No. Version 7 is still a great buy.
But if you are interested in upgrading and Adobe announces a new version within about 30 days of your purchase, they've usually offered a cheaper upgrade. In the past, Adobe has released new versions of Elements in the fall. But there's been no formal announcement yet. We'll keep our eyes out for these backdoor announcements in the meantime! Re: Getting ready for version 8I think I will wait for version 10. I should have mastered 7 by then
Re: Getting ready for version 8Isn't it funny that in that same ad they show Photoshop Elements/Premeire Elements 7 selling for $149. Go figure.
Re: Getting ready for version 8
I still use version 2 but my imminent migration to Windows 7 64 bit will finally kill that off. AMD Ryzen 3900x 12C/24T, ASUS x570 mobo, Arctic Liquid Freezer ll 280, Win11 64 bit, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 graphics, Samsung 500GB NVMe 980 PRO (C:), Samsung 970 Evo SSD (D:), Dell U2717D Monitor, Synology DS412+ 8TB NAS, Adobe CS6.
Re: Getting ready for version 8When the product is released, you may want to call customer service. I had a similar thing happen when we went from version 4 to version 7. I think it was within 60 days. They sent the new version for a shipping charge of $9.00.

Re: Getting ready for version 8I'm assuming with version 8 they will be adding some needed features regarding avchd, specifically the ability to burn avchd to dvd and perhaps smart rendering?
Azus Sabertooth X58 1366 MB, 12GB DDR3 1600 RAM, Intel i7 960 CPU, Nividia GTX 470 Graphics, Intel 120GB SSD Primary Drive, 2- 10,000 RPM 300GB Velicoraptors in RAID 0, Seagate 500GB internal, 750W PSU, Win 7 Pro, BDH 20 burner, Canon HF20 HD camera.
Re: Getting ready for version 8Dont hold your breath!!!... Smart rendering for standard MPEG and improvements in DVD authoring have been requested for years but have never been implemented.
Re: Getting ready for version 8UMMM I'm on version 3, loaded 4 but scrapped it, was thinking about getting version 7, but maybe I should wait until version 8
Re: Getting ready for version 8
Adobe has always been very secretive about the features in the subsequest releases. THere are beta testers that know this, but they are all sworn to secrecy. There is no point to guessing what the features are going to be. You will find out soon enough.
Re: Getting ready for version 8There have been some improvement to AVCHD editing but I am not familiar with them. Maybe someone that has some experience with AVCHD and version 8 can now comment
