Start over in Organizer

Postby Walter Seaton » Tue Mar 19, 2013 1:47 pm

How can I decide what is retained in Organizer? I have quite a number of completed projects which are filed on a separate external drive and easily accessible. However, they continue to stay in my Organizer and clutter it up - I don't need that stuff there.

How can I deleted files I no longer need in the Organizer or, alternatively, prevent them from loading unless I want them to?

You actually have 2 options. If you just want to remove the files/projects from your Organizer, all you have to do is select them, right click > Delete from Organizer and if you want the files also deleted from your drive put a checkmark in the respective box.You find that option also under the Edit menu.
If you would like to retain the files for future use, you have the option to hide the files from view. You find this option also in the Edit Menu > Visibility > Mark as Hidden. Your file will have a special icon of a closed eye. Now you have to go back to Edit > Visibility > Hide Hidden Files. You get to that option also by right clicking on your file.
Let me know if you need more help.

Thank you - that was very helpful.

Now how can I do the same for the video projects list on the right of the screen? I tend to keep previous versions of work I am doing and finish up with several redundant versions in the video projects list.

Walter, I'm glad I was able to help. :-D
I'm not sure I am on the right track with your followup question. I don't have version 8, but I looked in version10 and it looks as follows:

Capture.JPG

If that is what you are refering to, you can also right click on the project in the list and one of the 3 options offered is to delete the project. That is the only option offered to deal with the clean up, you are not able to hide the project in that case. I have never used this option and I'm not sure that is what you want.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
