Postby Sean22 » Wed May 02, 2012 7:28 am

Hello! I am using pre. Elm. 8 and saving all to an external hard drive. I am not sure but I think my external drive letter is changing I thought it used to be drive I and now says j...anyways when I open any saved project im able to see in the time line my titles but where my video clip used to be is replace by a red screen with ten different languages stating video offline. How can I get my video back?

Welcome to Muvipix!

I haven't used Pre El 8, but try right clicking on the clip in the media panel and see if there is a "relink" option. If not, I'm sure that one of the Pre El 8 gurus will respond soon with a solution for you.

From the Adobe help article that Peru linked to above;

Replace an offline file with a file on your computer

In the Tasks panel, click Organize, and then click Project.
In the Project view, select one or more offline files.
Choose Edit > Locate Media.
Locate and select the actual source file, and click Select.
Note: If you selected more than one offline file, the Attach Which Media dialog box appears in turn for each file you selected. Pay attention to the offline filename in the title bar of the dialog box so that you relink the correct source file to each offline file.

Are you saying that doesn't work Sean?
