Before we announce the winners and start the prize selection I want to explain something about our HDV Camcorder prize. When we started the contest the Canon HV30 was selling for anywhere between $450 - $550 for NTSC and about $50 more for PAL format. With the introduction of the HV40 the HV30 model is almost non-existent. The HV30 models that are available are way overpriced compared to only a few short months ago. Not knowing if the winner would need a PAL or NTSC model we didn't want to purchase the camcorder in advance. Due to the lack of availability and pricing, we will offer the person that chooses this prize either $600 in cash transferred to their PayPal account, or a comparable camcorder such as the HV20 which may still be available at a similar price. It is also possible that the HV30s will come back or that the HV40 price will drop, but probably not before the selection process begins. Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation

Winners will be announced soon, probably in the next 24 hours, so stay tuned.
I did want to remind everyone that a person can only win one prize, that makes the contest a lot more fun for everyone. So remember, even though a video might have been excellent could still mean that it doesn't win a prize. There were a number of enties by a couple of members, all of them were very well done but not all can win a prize.
So just to put it into one sentence. Once a contestant wins a prize any other videos they entered are not longer qualified to win. This keeps things fun and fair for everyone and give more chances for others to win prizes.
This was an amazing year and the videos were by far some of the best ever. Thank you all for the entries, it was truly a pleasure and an honor.

An option would be to replace the HV30 with an XH A1

lol - If that was an option, why not give everyone an HV20 as a door prize. It would cost about the same. :P

In this day and age, you wouldn't want muvipix to join the bankruptcy crowd, would you?

Of course not, I was joking. Muvipix does a lot for its members and nonmembers than other sites.
