Hi Dick,
Yes, you can use any media that would be available to any other contestants.
In other words you can't create your own motion background in After Effects and us it in the contest.
As long as the background or graphic is available to everyone it will be fine to use.

The editing can only be done with Premiere Elements and/or Photoshop Elements.

I hope that helps clear up your question.

I couldn't figure out how to do the thumbnail thing. Here it is:

Also I failed to mention that I entered it as the Elements only competition.

Anywhere where I can go in and edit that?

I submitted another film. My assumption is that Ron manually takes the uploaded thumb and merges it to the film file? If not, I messed up again. #-o

On another note, again I failed to mention that this also is under the Elements only category. Sorry for being so forgetful. :-(

This has been a lot of fun, trying to push the limits of this program. I found myself having to render some files out, and then applying more effects, to create the right look. Very cool stuff. Can't wait to see what everyone else submits! :TU:

I have two questions.

I just finished my video and I'm going to save it but the frame size says 320x240 for wmv. How do I change this to 640x480 (and forgive me if this was answered, I didn't get it :

Also, not sure how to do the thumbnail. Can I have some help with that?

Thanks so much, first ever entry will soon be on the way :)

There is a WMV preset called LAN I believe, that will give you 640 x 480. You may need to go into the advanced settings.

Thumbnail, export a frame from your video, something that you like. Then resize it in Photoshop Elements to 100 x 100 jpeg. I think that's right. The instructions are here somewhere :-k

Theresa, In PRE V 7 (don’t know if it is the same in prior versions)
Click the Green SHARE Button (near top right corner)
Click Personal Computer Icon
New Window Pops up that says - PC: Choose location and settings
Scroll down the box and look for Windows Media
In Preset drop down box choose Local Area Network (LAN)
Give the video a file name
Choose a place to save it
(look at the info below the box where you choose a place to save — it will tell you there that the frame size is 640 x 480)
Click Save
It will take awhile for the wmv file to save, the screen will darken a little.
When it is finished it will tell you.

If you don’t use v 7, let the board know.
Maybe someone who is using the same version will pop in with an answer.

Ron, I think I uploaded my video and thumbnail, but Firefox unexpectedly closed itself between the upload of the video and the thumbnail. Is there a way you can check to make sure both uploads were successful?

LAST DAY!!!

I was working on a third submission, but got side tracked. Oh well, I'm sure two submissions is one more than my fair share. :yh: (Because it's the cool smilie to use these days)
