here are the details on what will hopefully be the first of three or four contests this year.

Subject: Competition
Length: Up to 3 minutes

As the deadline approaches, there will be instructions on how to upload entries. Please do dot upload any videos until that time, as we want to make all entries available for viewing at the same time.

I was just thinking about this yesterday... I am racking my brain to come up with a good idea. But yes I am still in. :)

For what it's worth, Peru -- Chuck, Ron and I have been discussing a number of ways to bring new energy to the site.

In the coming months we'll be overhauling the look of the site, giving our library of materials a more user-friendly interface and streamlining some features.

We also hope to give greater focus to ongoing contest, including adding incentives and prizes.

So don't lose hope, Bob! Once Ron is able to dig out of winter storm Ultima and the rest of us are able to thaw out from this very cold winter, I'm sure we'll such more more action and interest in our contests.

Steve that is a great idea. Contests seem to add pressure. Were you might feel like you can't. Maybe have it be called an exposition or something. Also I am not sure how the web page looks but it would be cool to have a laurel next to your name if you are a winner. In the way that we have founder, premiere member, support, etc. It would be cool to see that addition.

I love to compete but when the prizes are big that seems to also increase the pressure. For me I am interested to see what folks are doing. I am always up for a good Trip Hop from Mom, or watching Ron capture the training exploits with a steadycam... :)

This is a great idea, Sidd! The way we indicate people are Moderators or Super Contributors == We should also indicate Contest Winners!

Some interesting ideas.

Do you think we should hold off on this contest, er exposition, until the new format is in place. :conf:

If there is no objections, I think we should postpone the event.

I think it would be nice to start after the upcoming contest. Not retrospectively.
