Here is my entry. I did run a tad over 1 minute, about 1min 18 seconds. I posted a 7 minute version with titles in the AE section.

Deep inside the creator's laboratory, as I used to dream of when I started following my favorite filmmakers on Vimeo!
I am particularly happy I had the chance to go through the making of "Retrospect", which has caught my curiosity in its meaning.
I sometimes make images succeed fast on VLC Media Player jumping forwards and backwards to get some inspiration.
A fast start of the contest :ha: , very challenging !

That was indeed very cool. It's also the first time that I've seen the After Effects interface in action. You have to be really fast to keep up! :hyst: But seriously, it does give a peek into why the learning curve is steep. Music was perfect, too. :TU:

Holy cow, AE looks COMPLICATED!!! I've never seen the UI before, and now I'm scared of it.

Some of the UI reminds me of using FrontPage to create a website. And all those tracks! Wow! My jaw was open the entire time I watched that video. Absolutely amazing that you can navigate all of that, but your outstanding videos indicate you do very well with AE.

I've heard some editors say that AE is a career unto itself. Now I have a better idea as to why.

A nice way to evaluate a tool, if articulated, might be watching the single tasks.
Curiosity is often the key: I learn how to open the program, how to add a video and an audio to the timeline.
Then how to cut sequences, to increase and reduce speed, but... I want to experiment some more.
It is the moment when difficulties vanish: I google to find a solution, then I start reading the manuals from lynda.com... or watch the videos ...
I am on the right way to forget shocking complexity... creativity takes it all!

AE scares me too sometimes! The original plan for an entry was to create a project, but it would take too long even sped up. Sidd gave me the idea on a different post about Trip-Hop video and the tour came to mind. I only touched on some of the panels and fly out menus. Too many things to show and some I haven't touched since the Apprentice Book. Learning where the panels and tools are located is half the battle. Now, if I can only learn how to program the TV remote. :-8

Music by Ron in the Muvipix download section.

Can we extend it a bit?
So far only Cheryl's entry and Sidd's entry coming soon.

As usual, I'm behind schedule. It's been crazy busy at work and I've had to put in more hours than usual. And it's the holiday season. And I just thought of how to do my video. And the sun was in my eyes... :fg:
