Events Warning: Desktop Display Mode has been Reset?

Postby EleanorAliza » Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:50 pm

Good Evening All,
I am working on a DVD slideshow in Premiere Elements 4. I noticed a little yellow triangle in the lower left corner and clicked on it. It stated the following " Desktop Display Mode has been reset because the video card returned an error. Please reset the Desktop Display Mode in the Playback Settings dialog. As this may impact your playback performance." Well, it took me a long time the find "Playback Settings" Found it in >Edit >Project Settings >General >Playback Settings. But could not locate a reset button. I cleared out the events, tried different things that I had been doing ie: adding effects, transitions, viewing in Full Screen etc. But could not get to reproduce the little yellow warning icon.

My playback settings >check mark in Desktop Video Display During Playback >External Device: DV 29.97i (720x480) >Aspect Ratio Conversion: Hardware (If supported) >dot in Desktop Audio >Export: DV 29.97i (720x480) >check mark in Disable video output when Premiere Elements is in the background.
>dot in Cooversion Method=Interlaced Frame >Desktop Display Mode: dot in standard.
I have never been in here before, so this is what my default was. Can anyone find a reset button???

Does anyone know what this is all about?
Thanks
Aliza

I know that there is a thread on this somewhere on this forum.
I think I asked the same question about Pre El 3.0.2.

As I recall, I was told to just ignore it.

I think that you can right click on it for options.

Thanks Everyone,
I will do just that, ignore it. When I close program and reopen next time to use, it is gone anyway.
Thanks for the replies.
