Discussions concerning Premiere Elements version 1 - 4.

Hi everyone,
This is my first post on Muvipix after posting and following topics on Premiere Elements over on the Adobe forums.
My question is, I am working on a section of video where I have have two video tracks that do not take up the entire video screeen. The background left over is black. Is there a way to change this to another color?
Thanks, Paul

Welcome to Muvipix, Paul.
The easiest way to do this is to place your two videos on tracks 2 and 3 and place a color matte on track 1. To create a color matte, click on the add new item button in the available media panel and select color matte.
Alternately, you can place a motion background on track 1 if you want something not so plain. Check out the free downloads section for some motion backgrounds.

Our new "Cool Tricks" book shows you how to add split screen or even a slideshow over a motion background! http://muvipix.com/cooltricks.php

Thanks Steve. I'm getting to the point where I'm comfortable adding some more effects. I'll check your new book out.

I always start my projects out leaving Track 1 open .. assuming I'll want some kind of background .. just in case everything doesn't fill the screen.

It also gves you a place to paste things to be placed in its final location later.

Great idea Jayell! When making a slideshow I add my motion backgrounds last. Less render time on the previews when I am fine tuning things. Welcome Paul to Muvipx! There are motion backgrounds for any project in the Products section. Be sure to check out the complimentary section too. The backgrounds can be modified...change color, slow down, opacity, etc. too.
