want to find avi files

Postby chooks » Wed Sep 30, 2009 6:56 am

I have been using PE4 to download about 4 hours worth of DV tapes. I want to save the files so that I can import and use certain avi files later on in a future project. I can't find where PE is putting the avi files on the harddrive, all I can find is small PEK files. I know that data is somehow on the harddrive, as the disc space used up reflects this. Could someone please point me in the right direction to get avi files in a folder,as all I can get is avi files on a project timeline which is not what I want ::C

Hi Chooks,

Step 1 - right click the clip on the timeline and select reveal in media
Step 2 - right click on the clip that is revealed and select properties

The dialog box that pops up will tell you where on your system the media is stored.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Just so you know. The default capture file location is your project folder. You can change this in the preferences under the scratch disks category. You have three choices "My Documents", "Same as Project", and "Custom". Custom allows you to specify any folder. If your capture files are not going to the project folder, check your preferences file and see what you have set.
