press stop on DVD player - I want to see image on TV - how ?

Postby coolstuffiniowa » Tue Aug 04, 2009 1:38 pm

so on the recent Pink Pankther DVD - when I pressed stop on my DVD player - an image of the Pink Panther came up on screen - I thought - that is kinda neat.......
then I realized on my Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer DVD (classic Rankin Bass stop motion animation) there is an image of Rudolph when you press stop on the DVD player as well.........

My question is - how do I do that same thing with my DVDs

is it something hidden in the menus screen area?

am I not able to do this?

just curious

Could be a function of the DVD player, nothing you can do in Premiere Elements to make that happen.

Possibly it is a feature that can be added to a DVD using a more advanced authoring tool like EncoreDVD or DVD Architect. But I am thinking it might be the DVD player, try one of your home burned movies and see what happens :)

Might be worth sticking the DVD in your computer and browsing it to see if there is a PNG or JPEG in a main directory that's triggering it.

I'll look on my commercial DVDs -- though I've never seen one of those images before, so I don't know if it's universally used!
