I'm not using firewire from VCR to Pyro, just RCA cables. Am using firewire from Pyro to PC though. I didn't know that VCR had no device control, but I have pushed play on VCR and VCR starts playing but nothing happens on screen.

Have turned device control off and still nothing. Like I said, it shows nothing on screen and when I hit "get video" and then after a few seconds "stop" it says "recorder captured no frames." I just don't understand why all of a sudden it stopped working.

Not sure where you are talking about split by time code. Where is this option?

There is only one option in version 4, split by timecode and that should be turned off.

If the Pyro isn't working in either machine then maybe it has gone bad.

Actually sent an email last week to ADS but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully they'll respond soon. Thanks for your help. Hope it works out.

They are real good at figuring out the problem.
Be sure to download WinDV, that is the only thing they will test capture with.
Once they get a good capture with WinDV then they are done. If it still doesn't capture with Premiere Elements after that then come back here and we will help from that point.
