Missing fiels after reopening

Postby bgsnmky » Fri Mar 16, 2007 4:12 pm

I created multiple projects. And tested them last night. When I open the project today, right after it has loaded...a window comes up asking
"where is xxx.mpe" xxx being one of the songs I loaded.

I just said cancel and went to the timelline.

In the audio there is the green bar and the title of the song, but no sound waves and no audio when I play it. It is like it knows it is supposed to be there, but now it is gone.

HELP.

I just notieced the captured media shows a funky symbol and if I double click it states, edit offline file..what is that?

Where is that song located? Is it on an external drive? On a CD? Or was it moved?

Remember, a Premiere Elements project file is really just a bunch links to different sources. You still need those sources to be available until you output your project.

Next time you open your project, if you're prompting to find a clip, browse to that clip and relink to it. Otherwise, it won't be there when you try to play it.

Thanks Steve...I think it was because it was on another laptop on my network and it was off. I fixed it.

So does it only ask for items that are ont he timeline or will it ask for all media files that you capturred.

Example - I may have captured pictures, but I didn't use it in the project.

If they're in your Media panel, they're a part of your project and you'll be prompted for them.
