Stuttering or jerky motion effect

Postby Melachrino » Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:08 pm

In using the Motion effect on video clips, Rotation comes out smooth and continuous. However, the translation motion comes out stuttered and jerky in similar sections.

I am not intentionally adding keyframes but letting the program interpolate. Where do I look and set the type of translation motion interpolation to force smoothness and not something like quick start or quick finish, perhaps ?

Right-click on a keyframe to bring up a pop-up where you can choose the type of interpolation, such as linear, bezier, auto-bezier, continuous bezier. There's also spatial and temporal interpolations.

Thanks for the tip.

I must be right clicking on the wrong screen or place because the only window popup that shows does not contain any motion interpolation choices.

I am on timeline, on a clip, selected, effects, motion. Go to a keyframe indication (blue diamond) and right click. It shows, copy, select all, etc but no interpolation or header that I can recognize. What am I doing wrong ? If I right click on an empty keyframe (diamond) nothing shows up.

OK.

I found it. In timeline, select clip, right click, select show motion keyframes, and then get on one of the keyframe circles on the timeline, not the edit panel, right click and voila, the motion interpolation selection.

Thanks for help
