Shadow Highlight Filter

Postby Chummy Chambers » Fri Dec 14, 2007 10:56 am

Hi guys,
Today's question for all you PE experts! :-D
This is a great option and works wonders with some poorly shot footage.
Only isue is that it occasionally causes a flicker.
What is this and how can I fix it? :-k

Well, as we always say, it's math not magic, Chummy.

Much depends on what your source footage is. DV-AVIs from a miniDV will clean up much neater because you're working with the original data, for instance.

But all you're doing, in any event, is raising the black point, reducing the white point and, essentially, softening the contrast -- so, if the footage is terrible to begin with, you're going to get artifacts and other weirdness.
