updates & upgrades for 3.2 ?

Postby kr236rk » Wed Jan 09, 2013 8:21 pm

Hi.

I'm back! :-D

3.2 died on me about 2 years ago. Tonight I was tinkering with the free download Premiere 2 - which installed much to my surprise. So I popped PE 3.2 disc into the XP drive & the darned thing installed & opened, I've already loaded a test project to it!

Urgently please: is there a list of upgrades/patches for this version, I have a hunch this issue may have crashed it in the past. If I go to Adobe they list 100s of pages of upgrades but there is no page for version 3 in particular. Is there any way I can easily get hold of all the patches for version 3.0 to 3.2 please?

Alternatively, is there an upgrade tab already in the software - if so can I kindly be navigated to it?

Many thanks,

Ric

This is one of the few versions they posted an update to, Ric. Here's the link:

Although, if you've got version 3.02, you already have the update.

And if you need to download it, make sure to save it to a file so that you will have it in case you need to reinstall.

Just tried to load an old favourite - the Granite Bay deficker filter. I have all the install files from the original download but all I get is this message.

Any clues please?

Is this a video that you're trying to import into a Premiere Elements project? I'm not clear what you're doing.

That said, Ric, I'm not sure how much we can do with this 10 year old piece of software. Even if you load it on XP, it's pretty ancient technology. You'd be lucky if you could get it to edit miniDV footage -- or even run, for that matter.

Thanks Steve,

It's an AVI, it has loaded great, like it used to, and I have started to edit it; it's just that the GB filter plugin won't work, even though I inserted it into the PE3 plugin folder.

I take your point about the time-expiry period of software though - I won't be too disappointed if this doesn't work because I know I am winging it: I have other edit software now anyway. But ten years. That footage represents a micro timelapse because it was an 8mm motion picture project, hundreds of individual photographs or frames spanning some 3 minutes, run through a projector, giving the illusion of movement in time.

The camera's serial number is 931610 which means it left the Bolex factory in 1962. It is still running great after 51 years, goodness knows how many owners, and probably never serviced or maintenanced because cine cameras are about as easy to take apart as dv cams, you need a specialist, far and few between these days.

I've emailed Granite Bay.

Thanks,

Ric
