TimeLine Question

Postby slushparlor1 » Wed May 30, 2012 5:44 pm

I am using Adobe Elements 4. When I look at the Sceneline I can see all the photos but when I switch to Timeline I can only see one photo and on that photo looks like two folders are in the corner. Did I hit something to make it this way? I would like to be able to see the photos in Timeline.

Thanks.

The timeline is set to probably heads only, meaning only the first photo is showing. You can change this to show all the items. I don't have PrEl 4 and maybe someone else will post on how to change the view. (If I remember correctly there may be a toggle at the beginning of the track on the different views.)

Cheryl's right.

Go to the Track Headers (along the left side of the timeline) and click on the little film icon button. As you click on it, it will toggle through the various ways to display clips on your Timeline.

And remember that in timeline view unless you're really zoomed in you're not looking at individual frames - you're seeing sample frames. If you're working with photos it's possible that you may not even see some of the individual photos if they're displayed for a short duration and you're zoomed out too far.

Thank you for your help everyone (as always). When I click on the film strip it does give me difference options on the sceneline but when I check back to the Timeline I still see just one photo. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. It's difficult to see where I am missing transitions the other way ](*,)

At least it's sunny in Boston :)

Could you have Timeline and Sceneline mode confused, Theresa?

Clicking the filmstrip should change the look of the clip in Timeline mode and not Sceneline -- not vice versa, as you say.

Can you post a screen capture?

Zoom into the timeline to view the transitions. Transitions by default are only about 30 frames so zooming in is needed to see them.
