Discussions concerning Premiere Elements version 1 - 4.

I ordered the download version from Adobe's website a few days ago. I thought I could download it right then and there. But only after my order was placed did Adobe mention that it wouldn't be available until October 7th. This is more of a "collection" and reference item for the forum than a necessary item. Anyway, I couldn't afford the Pro version even at $299, and really can't afford the $79 for the download version.
I didn't do any beta testing, although I did install and start up an earlier beta version. It was so dark that I couldn't read the timeline ruler, so that was the end of that.

Oh shame... Thanks for that RJ Johnston, I might just order it from Amazon as I really thought the download would be quicker, don't know why I thought that! Still worth waiting for though Cheers, Lee

Gooder - The updrade price from Adobe is a better deal than buying from Amazon. Amazon is not offering any discounts for owners of previous versions. Of course, if this is the first version you are buying, Amazon is cheaper.

Thanks for the tip, JohnnyO. I do have version 1 of prem elements but no photoshop elements. So, my thinking was just to purchase from Amazon and get the bundle. I should really sit down and do some checking on Adobe and other sites.... I am also living in Sweden so I'm not sure what the price would be from adobe and if they still offer free delivery! Time to do some thinking! Thanks again, Lee

As posted earlier...
For those looking to upgrade, I think the frugal route is to go through the Adobe store. They have free shipping. The upgrade price is $119.99.
And if anyone noticed at the end of yesterdays webinar there was a promotion code to use. It gives an extra 10% discount. The promotional code is DESIGNQ407. I just ordered and the price came to $107.99 plus tax.
This is the U.S. version.

Amazon is now offering rebates. Prices after rebates are $69 each, or $109 for the bundle. When you click on the rebate form, however, the PDF says "NOT VALID FOR REDEMPTION". Strange.

The rebate coupon ships with the product and is inside the box. You don't use the one in the pdf. Some stores may sell discounted versions without the rebate coupon -- effectively including the rebate in the price. Walmart has done this in the past, don't know whether they will do so with this release. Requiring the coupon in the box prevents getting an additional rebate on these discounted versions.

With the rebate, Amazon.com is now cheaper. 109+free shipping+no tax=109. And if we order through Chuck's link, then muvipix.com will get some kickback I think. So, le't order from the link to support this site.

New to the forum...I ran out and bought PE3 moments after it was released...what a diappointment. I went back to using PE2 and Premiere Pro. Is the new PE4 really "all that"? I can see that new bells and whistles, but is the new offering worth the upgrade. The bundled upgrade looks like it would be worth the expense...I'm just not so sure about the changes. I recall after buying PE3, most users commented that the upgrade wasn't really that much of an improvement... Alos, there seems to be some discussion about the properties screen. Can that screen be separated and viewed on a second monitor?

Chuck do you have a link where I can purchase in Australia? I have not purchased anything from Amazon in the past so am not sure about postage to Australia. I usually purchase from an online store here in Australia. Thanks Helen
