What may I be doing wrong?

Postby hpharley90 » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:44 pm

From both browsers IE and Mozilla Firefox I haven't been able to down load anything from the subscribers area.

I tried music "DVD loop". I tried HD children motion backgrounds. With both browsers it starts then stops almost immediately.
Notice the (Unknown time remaining) How can I fix this?

I'm not sure, Harley. I just tried the Children motion background TVHD500.zip on my FireFox 3.6.8 and it loaded right up.

Or you may have caught it at a bad time. Give it another try.

Some of those HD motion backgrounds are close to 1gb is size.
Be sure to give it enough time ;)

I get the same response from a :32 second music clip.

I'm downloading a 127 MB file right now as I type. No problems. :-k

I'll try one more time (32 second music clip) and give it a full 5 minutes to see if will down load.
Thanks
Richard

Good idea to try more than one browser. Have you tried it with Google Chrome?

The problem isn't likely at our end, if others can download it okay. That particular file is only about 17 meg, so size is not an issue.

I did . I tried IE.

Steve Grisetti wrote:Have you tried it with Google Chrome?

No. I don't need another browser.

I always was able to download with Mozilla. I haven't down loaded anything in a while. So when I try it it doesn't work.
Thanks
Richard

what version of FireFox are you on Richard?
Are you using any kind of Download Manager add-on?

I have been able to download as a test and no problems here.
Can you tell me which of the HD Background is TVHD500 and I will try that one also.

The motion background is HD Children 04.

I have always had problems downloading in Firefox. Don't know why. Downloads have always worked for me in IE so it hasn't been a significant problem.

I tried downloading that file in Firefox and, as usual, nothing happened. I then tried with IE8 and got the same result as hpharley90 - zilch.

I also tried to download some other HD backgrounds using IE8 - same result.

Strangely each time I changed to try another background my log-in failed and I had to log in again.

The initial common denominator I see here is that you guys are in the UK. I'll check our logs to see if anything's going on with us, but I just downloaded the suspect files without issue. Is anyone else having problems? No complaints via our email system either.

FWIW, I have NEVER had a problem downloading anything using Firefox.

With your logout issue, John, it kind of sounds like a total disconnect ending your browser session. Has this happened before?

Nope. Also re the downloading, because IE always works I just use that instead of FF. Probably some odd setting that I have in FF that is causing me the problem so am OK with the IE workaround.

Hi Harley,

I don't know if this will help you, but I just had a wired problem like that too. I had uploaded videos to Shutterfly and they played fine on my site after upload. But as soon as I shared them to my daughter's share site, they would not play anymore. They started loading, but never finished. I tried also Internet Explorer, with the same result. But when I visited the share site from a different computer, everything worked fine.

It turned out, that one of my add-ons to Firefox was the culprit. I had the Google toolbar add-on installed, after uninstalling the problem went away.

Go to >tools> add-ons and disable each one and see if that helps. There is also an option to run Firefox in safe mode for trouble shooting. You find this option in >Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox>Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode).

Good call. I had to install an Adobe Down load manager not too long ago. So I opened my Firefox add on window and disabled the Adobe down load manager and then tried to down load music from muvipix and it worked. :-D

Everyone thanks for your help.
Thanks
Richard
