Would it be possible to set a software requirement that a person have to be a member for a certain time period, say a month,

That wouldn't make much difference. Spammers are resilient. I've seen a number here that register, stay dormant for a while, and then start spamming. We just had one recently that was dormant for over three months.

That's why the suggestion came about having this open to subscribers only, that would be much easier to keep control of.

A 'teaser' for a 'Members only' section on the forum main page could also act as an incentive for folk to subscribe. :-D

We had an articles section once that was "subscribers only", that was kind of nice.

So does this have a chance, or is it dead in committee?

Cool. I hope you're able to make it work in such a way that it doesn't end up being a headache for you. I appreciate everything.

Thank you (in no particular order) Ron, Steve, and Chuck, as I'm sure a concensus was reached among you before this went forward. I appreciate the work that it took to put it together, and I appreciate Muvipix giving this an opportunity to succeed. :-5

Before I start considering what I might want to offer, I do have a question. The instructions say to not post payment information. Is it okay to post a price (or barter) as part of the information? I would assume that "payment information" means method of money transferral.

Sure.

We don't want payment info such as credit card numbers (should be obvious, but you never know), PayPal account emails, any kind of payment/account reference numbers (i.e., "wire the money to my bank account #123456" - that sorta thing).

Yes, payment information would be in reference to credit card or bank info. We expect there to be prices and bartering, just don't post your personal, credit, or bank info ;)
