How to remove a preset from a clip

Postby Ron Hunter » Tue Dec 28, 2010 5:05 pm

I created a preset in PRE7 that scales a clip down to a certain size. I applied the preset to a clip, but now I want to remove that preset so I don't have to render the clip.

How do I remove the preset from the clip?

I don't see the preset in the Clip Properties window and even when I change the clip scale back to 100%, I still see a red line over the clip indicating that rendering is needed.

Can you use the history to undo back to before you applied the preset?

No. This is the first time in a month that I've worked on this particular project, and the preset was applied in my last session.

That makes it a bit tougher, because you're going to have to figure out what effects the preset applied.

If it only applied Motion effects, right-click on the clip and select Show Properties. In the Properties panel, open Motion and turn off Animation to remove any keyframing. Then right-click on the Motion properties listing and select reset. Hopefully that will do it.

Otherwise, you'll have to dig deeper to find out what effects and properties settings the preset applied.

Steve, you nailed it! When I right-clicked "Motion" in the Properties panel and deselected "Effect Enabled", that removed the preset. Thanks for your help!
