720 60p to 30p at 50% speed

Is it possible to take 720p 60 raw footage and "force" it into a 720p 30 making the playback 50% speed?

I know I can use the timestrech feature but my goal is to slow the video down to 10% as best as possible. My thinking is that by using 60 progressive frames played at 30 frames per second would allow all frames to be used without frame doubling giving my starting point at 50% speed. Then apply the timestrech to strech the clip to 20% giving me an effective 10% speed without as much "choppyness" because each frame of the 60p file was only increased by 5 rather than 10.

Have I presented this "clearly"? Any thought would be appreciated.

Using Time Stretch will probably do what you need. Especially if you apply Frame Blend to it also.

Frame Blending helps smooth out most of the choppiness.

Although, slowing your video down to 10% is slowing it down a lot! Though, with Frame Blend, you should still get pretty good results.

Thanks for the quick reply. If just using the time strech tool is there any advantage to using 60p footage? Am I correct in thinking that half of the frames will be dropped when going from 60p to 30p anyway?

I would expect that that's true.
