As cynical as it sounds, I'm in agreement with you there. I bought a brand new HP color laserjet. A year and a half later I couldn't even get a full featured driver for it from them for Windows 7. It seems that they can't be bothered now rewriting drivers even for recent hardware. A client of mine had a very similar experience and literally was told by HP that he should consider purchasing a new printer. I used to recommend HP exclusively for laserjets. Now I've broadened my horizons. Although honestly I don't know if other manufacturers are any better. Since when does a year and a half old laserjet become a throw-away? BTW, the Vista full-featured driver will NOT install on Win 7.
