PE7 slideshow template

Postby banatone » Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:25 pm

Hi everyone,
Can someone tell me how to create a slideshow template with transitions, frame durations, intro and credits into PE7 so that I can just add my pictures? It would make my life a lot easier! #-o

Thanks!

That's not quite available to do, banatone.

You can use an InstantMovie template for slides and customize it to a certain extent. This is very close to what you're describing.

You can also use the Slideshow Creator in the Project media panel. This will take all of the stills you have gathered in this panel, trim them to whatever duration you want and apply a transition between them. But you'll still have to create your own intro and credits. I know of no way to generate them automatically since your text would, of course, need to be customized. But otherwise it too is very close to what you're asking for.

The Organizer also has a slideshow generator that automatically adds pans, zooms and transitions -- even random transitions.

Have you checked out any of these tools? It might help if we knew how they were deficient for your needs.

Thanks, Steve. What you have described is actually what I am looking for--something to start me out that I can customize as I go along. I will try these tools and let you know how I make out.

I arranged the photos I wanted for my slide show in a folder in PSE7, then sent them to PE7, where they were placed in order on the time, with a default fade transition between them. I then customized the transitions, added different effects, credits, music, moving backgrounds, etc.
Is there a way to save everything as a template, so I can create a similar slide show and just replace the pictures?

Not as easy as you might hope. If you have the same number of pictures and give them the same names as the originals and replace originals with the new photos in the original folder then maybe. But each one would have to be the same size as the original that it was replacing and the same orientation. As you can imagine it's not easy.

One good thing though. Now that you have done it once the next time will be a lot faster and easier :)
