Hi There:

I need to have the audio my final rendered files in mono, not stereo.
Can someone help me out with how to do this in PE7?

Thanks,

Hi Rudy,

See attached image. It's for Version 4 but should be the same for Version 7.

Hi Guys:

No joy yet! I've looked everywhere and cannot figure how to set PE7 so that it renders .wmv in mono. HELP!

Try using the share tab

Select the wmv preset and then click advanced

Under Advanced Dialog box that comes up select the audio tab. In the bitrate settings set encoding to one pass and Bitrate mode to Constant. Under basic audio setting you can select an audio format that is mono.

Does that work?

Hi Guys:

Here's what I've discovered.
1) PE7 can render a .wmv with audio mono output
2) PE7 cannot render a .avi file with mono output
3) PE7 cannot burn a DVD with mono output

1) The solution for issue #1 is:
- go the the Share panel and choose Windows Media option
- choose one of the HD settings so you get a nice big .wmv file with lots of data
- click the Advance button
- click on the Audio tab
- from Audio Codec drop down list choose Windows Media Audio 9
- Under Basic Audio Settings, from Audio Format drop down list choose from a large selection of mono options

3) The work around for issue #3 is to create a large .wmv file with mono audio and then burn it directly onto a DVD, bypassing PE7's DVD burning mechanism.
