Hi Donna, Sorry you have having so many problems with your project. Sometimes when things start going bad they just get worse, or it's one thing after another. I've been having similar problems with my current project, just fix one thing and something else happens.
When you burn to a folder you then need software, like ImgBurn, to burn the folder to a DVD in the correct format. First thing to try is to save your current Premiere Elements project with a different name, File/Save As, and name it something different, then try to burn again. Sometimes that all it takes. Next thing is to make sure you don't have any spaces between clips on the timeline, not even one frame as that can cause serious issues when burning. How far in the process do you get before the computer shuts down?

I got all the gaps closed when i put in transitions. It shuts down sometimes immediately when i hit burn and other times just randomly. i have burned another project to a folder and burned it to a dvd with no problems. i have exported this project and tried to burn it that way and it took hours to burn one copy and gave me some sort of error message on the second one. i am just about in tears, this is just pretty much then way my life has been for the last few months.. thanks

Hi Donna,
The VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS files that you see when you burn to a folder are the DVD files for the project.
To burn them to a DVD use ImgBurn (free download) as Chuck suggests. Just point ImgBurn at the VIDEO_TS file and it will take care of the rest - especially useful if you want to burn more DVDs later.
