Exploding Type

Postby Bubby Grub » Tue Oct 25, 2011 4:21 pm

Hi All,

Any ideas how I could achieve this. Say I have two lines of type coming from nothing, no probs. with that,
but how can I get it to actually explode off the screen. The transistion Confetti is not the idea. I have seen this done
but unfortunately at this stage I cannot think where it was, to even include a sample. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

With After Effects it isn't too hard

http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/p ... explosion/
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/aftereffect ... 7a8da.html
http://library.creativecow.net/mize_rob ... -Effects/1

Just a few to give you some ideas, did you want to do this in After Effects or something else?
There are plug ins that make it really easy, like Heroglyph.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Thanks Chuck,

We do have After Effects, but this was something actually my other half wanted to do, I suggested After Effects, but he and after effects
are not on good terms at all. Thanks for the links, I am happy to try, so will start on it a little later today.
Thanks again for the help.

Hi Chuck,
Sorry to be a pest, but my other half just looked at the plug in Heroglyph, could you point us to the right download link,
any we find doesn't mention that they are compatible with Win 7. So we are a little lost, whats new.
Thanks

I am trying to find a definite yes on what product will create exploding text and titles, there seems to be some question.
It is either VitaScene, Heroglyph or Adorage. I also believe that Bluff Titler will also create exploding text in the Pro version but can't find a definite answer on that one either. I have Heroglyph and Vitascene, will try to check them out later this week and let you know what I find.

Thanks Chuck

Looking forward to your findings, we have Bluff Titler, but not the pro version.
Will keep investigating further.

Do you want the look of glass shards exploding towards you?

The "text" layer in BluffTitler has an "explosion" property, at least in the Pro version. See if your version does.

Hi,
Yes to your question

Right at this stage we are looking at buying Bluff Titler Pro, we have had the small version for years. It is getting late in the day here, so will take a fresh look at it in the morning.
At this stage it looks like we will get it. It says it does have the explode feature, where as our version does not.
Thanks for any help. Suggestions always welcome.
Cheers

If the purchase is feasible then I would always recommend sticking with something you are already familiar with. Do they offer an upgrade discount? Just trying to determine the price in comparison to the ProDad products.

The newest version also allows you to make what they call "animated ornaments" (which are really flourishes). It does have quite a learning curve for those, though.

Hi Chuck & Peru

Yes Chuck, Bluff Titler is upgradable 19.95 Euro, but unfortunately we do not qualify as we only have the real early version, not 8 which is upgradable.
The Pro Version is 49.95 Euro which equates to about $73.00 AUD. Will probably go that way, especially now Peru mentions Flourishes too, I just love flourishes,
there definitely me.
Thanks again for all the help.

That definitely beats the price for ProDad Vitascene or Heroglyph at $220 each.

Hi
Just an update for anyone who may be interested.
Just purchased Bluff Titler Pro, along with 2 Bix Packs, No. 1 and 2. Doing so enabled us 20% discount off Pro, so all was 99.85 EUR,
which equates to about $145.00 AUD without being exact. So pretty happy with the outcome. The Bix Packs look great, especially
the Ornaments one where I am concerned, my other half loves the first one which is good also.
Thanks again everyone for all the help.

I tried to find exploding text in the versions of Heroglyph and Vitascene that I have and could not.
They do offer expansion packs so it could be included in one of those, they also have newer versions of the software out.

Thanks Chuck for the info.
We are looking at the exploding type effect in Bluff Titler, but haven't had much time. Hopefully will get more time today.
Thanks again for all the help.
