detached panelsHow do I reattach panels that I have accidentally separated from the main panels, such as project and effects?
Re: detached panelsIn CS3 it is from the main menu:
Window / Workspace / Reset Current Workspace 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: detached panelsWell, I've done that and it doesn't reattach the panels.
But let me flounder around and sharpen my question.
Re: detached panelsReset Current Workspace should have worked. It works for me in both Premiere Pro CS5 and CS6. What version do you have?
The undocked panel should have a tab at the top, drag the tab to the location where you want it to go and you should see docking zones appear. Release the mouse button over the landing zone you want and it should move there.
Re: detached panelsI see. Gracias.
I have CS5.5. I go crazy accidentally detaching these. Maybe my question should be, "How the heck to I do I accidentally detach 'em?" It happens so often.
Re: detached panels
Me, too. I usually see it happening when the purple color shows up as I am using my mouse. If you see it happening, don't let go of the mouse and press escape with your other hand. It will cancel the move.
Re: detached panelsAs far as I know, the only way to undock a panel and convert it to a floating panel is to use the right click context menu. If by detached you mean it has been moved to a different location, but not floating, that is done by dragging the tab. In either case Reset Current Workplace should restore the panels to the original position.
I'm wondering if you may be accidently dragging the tab when you click on it to select it. If you start moving away from the tab before you release the mouse button, it might be possible to detach it. Edit: I wrote this before Peru posted. But, that is what I'm talking about.
Re: detached panelsI'm sure you guys are right. I must be dragging those stupid panels.
I mean, my stupid mouse must be acting up. It has caused me all kind of problems lately because of the settings. I had no idea that the mouse could drag a panel away. I won't say I love Muvipix again, 'cause I don't want everyone to get sick of me saying it. But I do love...
Re: detached panelsIt may not be your mouse. Premiere Pro CS5.5 and 6 have had some discussion on the Adobe Forums about how sensitive the selection on the timeline is.
In my case, it's usually when I try to do things too quickly and am sloppy with the mouse.
