Producer Problem

When I try to render a show to DVD or ISO file, Producer shuts down. Does anyone have any troubleshooting suggestions?

Thanks,
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne, One thing is to make sure you have enough free hard drive space (depends on the size of your video but at least 20GB free) and that you have defragmented your drive(s).
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Yvonne,
In addition to what Chuck has laid out, I would also go to the directory where ProShow is installed in my case "C:\Program Files\Photodex\ProShowProducer" and delete the "CPIC.OPT and DEF.PHD files. Somehow they seem to get corrupted easily. Restart ProShow and they will be rebuilt. Let us know if that addresses the issue.

Dear Vernon and Chuck,

Thank you for your helpful hints. After reinstalling and trying your suggestions multiple times, I was able to get Producer to render an ISO file once. I will try it again today to see if it is still working. I almost hate to get my hopes up after being disappointed so many times.

Best wishes,
Yvonne :-D

Yvonne,
I have found ProShow to be fairly stable. Thre are a few minor quirks, but that is present in all software. We will have you up and running in no time. Please advise as to how you are getting on. There are a couple of other things we can try. But we started with the usual culprits :) .

:)
Dear Vernon,

Producer is now functioning normally! I am thrilled. I first bought Proshow Gold, but later took advantage of the loyalty discount to upgrade to Producer for $99. I use it for work projects and family projects.

Thank you for offering assistance.

I would like to share the suggestions from Photodex for fixing my problem in hopes that someone else may find it helpful.

Sincerely,
Yvonne

Thank you for contacting Photodex. It is possible we are dealing with
a faulty installation. To fix this, please uninstall your previous
version by going into the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove

Programs. There you will find two items: ProShow Gold and Photodex
Presenter. Please select 'Change/Remove' for both items. Download using

Internet Explorer (since some browsers have download accelerators) the
newest version from our website and save it to your desktop.

Please make sure that your anti-virus software, spyware detectors, and
firewalls are disabled or closed because they can interfere with the
installation procedure. Run the installation file on your desktop and
follow the instructions. Your security software will return after you
have rebooted the computer when the installation is complete. I would
also strongly suggest disabling the security software again for the
first time you run ProShow Gold.

I would also like for you to upgrade your CD/DVD burn support. To keep

up to date on our CD/DVD support, please click on "Help" from the menu
bar and click on "Upgrade DVD/CD support." Provided that your
anti-virus or firewall software lets ProShow connect to the Internet, it will
download the newest version. You can check your version numbers by
clicking on "Help" and then selecting "About."
