Seems to me there was an episode of "The Simpons" just like this.

See, Homer gave Marge this bowling ball for her birthday...

John, while you are recuperating, :violent1: you need to update your signature with the new specs, and then give Mrs. TwoSheds a hug :love3:

Hi Clayton,

Cool case -- literally. That should be able to handle just about any thermal load you want to throw at it.

The 700W PSU should be more than adequate even if you want to load up all those drive bays.

I see Paul already answered the FSB question.

(Needless to state Mrs Twosheds has demanded compensation which, in her words, will be very painful upon my person and even more painful on my pocket.)

John, it has been awhile since you so graciously accepted transfer of Mrs. Twosheds new quad-core machine rather than upsetting her. I would like an update as how you and this machine are progressing. Any problems? Any regrets? Any thing you would do different (outside of upsetting her)? In general do you love it?

Hi Clayton,

No problems whatsoever. I have looked at overclocking the machine but as I am not a 'gamer'I don't really see the need as the machine is fast enough for what I do. :-D

I want to carry out the promised benchmark purely for my own interest but, for various reasons, that is unlikely to be for a while yet.

Generally speaking I would say that the increase in speed for processor bound activity (e.g rendering) seems to be about 150% of my old (or to put that another way, Mrs Twoshed's new ;) ) Pentium D 3.2 Ghz.

HTH. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
AMD Ryzen 3900x 12C/24T, ASUS x570 mobo, Arctic Liquid Freezer ll 280, Win11 64 bit, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 graphics, Samsung 500GB NVMe 980 PRO (C:), Samsung 970 Evo SSD (D:), Dell U2717D Monitor, Synology DS412+ 8TB NAS, Adobe CS6.
