Is the N wireless standard final?

I am wondering as I shop for a new laptop if the N wireless standard is Final or if it is still Draft?

I think this is significant because I had previously read that the devices manufactured for N Draft would not work and could not be modified for what would be the Final N standard. I don't want to spend money on Draft N wireless only to need to replace it soon. I could live with G wireless devices and my G router/access point for now.

Definitely not final. They are on Draft 3 with Draft 4 expected to be released soon (March or after). IEEE is estimating mid 2009 for final, but I think that's on the optimistic side.

Personally, I'd stick with G for now.

What manufacturer is foisting N off on a unknowing public? I don't recall seeing any pre-N notebooks lately.

I looked for N notebooks in last Sunday's circulars, and sure enough there were a couple of them.
