VGA = video graphics array.....analog

DVI = digital visual interface.....digital

My 22.5 inch monitor is digital and my 17 inch is analog.

I can't see a difference between either monitor.

I at one time had both DVI on my Nvidia graphics card and it ruined 3 monitors before I figured out that was the problem.
So I went back to my ATI card with 1 VGA and 1 DVI and no more problems.
Thanks
Richard

I guess I am reallypicky, and it is grainy and has lines. I have had computer people look at it as well as the tv satelite people look at it.

One thing I discovered when I moved up from a 17" Dell LCD to a 19" Dell LCD is that both monitors had the same 1280x1024 max resolution. In effect, what I got was a larger screen but less sharp picture (bigger pixels = less sharpness). So, this may account for the difference you're seeing between your 17" and 19"...

And I am finding I like the sharpness better....well maybe not...well maybe yes! -- not sure.

so the larger you go the higher resolution you need...

Just got a TigerDirect email ad for Acer 22 inch widescreen monitor - while they last - $179.99 - expires after Jan 31.

Acer AL2216WBD 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Ultra-fast 5ms, WSXGA+ 1680x1050, DVI, VGA, Black, VESA 100mm

BTW, I just tried moving the Monitor window in PrEl v2 to the HDTV screen. I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before #-o Comparing the image to my external 13 inch CRT SDTV monitor connected via A/D converter S-Video the picture is pretty good. I still like the picture on the CRT better but I find the HDTV display reasonably good and useable to guage image quality.

Nice deal Ken, if I didn't hate rebates so much it would be tempting :)
