Will be back soon, but....in the meanwhile I' am desperately building a WEBsite as Social Security doesn't cut it for me. Any who, I have a question for anyone knowledgeable in a particular area of site presentation. That is, I have an excellent WEBsite thet I'm offering for sale and hoping to get some decent money for. The setup is that the sales page I've constructed is a secondary or subpage of the main WEBpage. So, the question is, will keywords and description possibly be enough to draw, or is there anything else I need to do? Suggestions and thoughts always appreciated.

Re: Will be back soon, but..Hi Buddy,
These days keywords mean very little and description only minimal. Not that those don't make a difference at all but are less important than they used to be. There are so many new ways of getting our site out there now. The search engines have crawlers and robots that go to web pages and index them, getting popular with the robots and crawlers is very important. Check out anything you can find on "Robot.TXT" files. This is basically a map of your site and where the robots should visit and index. Also, the more frequently you update your site the better chance you have of getting a higher rating. Another thing is how long the site has been active, the longer the better the ranking. Look up everything you can about SEO, search engine optimization. There are many tools available, especially on Google. Be sure to create a Google Analytics account and add the code to your site so you can track everything, and I mean everything. I'm sure others will have some input as well 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Will be back soon, but..Zowie Chuck, that's wonderful info I can tackle. We've had the main site for years, but I've just put the sub page together in the last week or so. The sub is the .com sales page. Thanks bunches for the input.

Re: Will be back soon, but..forgot something...
The site map is called a "sitemap.xml" file, that is very important today. The "robots.txt" is something else and probably not as important as it was a few years ago. The Site Map is very important and there are probably other things as well. The Site Map contains a lot of info about your site that the robots and crawlers can use. 1. Re: Will be back soon, but..I've noticed that lots of local businesses have a FB account. On our community FB page I have seen posts by small businesses looking for someone to manage their page. I forgot what the term is offhand....someone that manages companies social feeds like FB, twitter, Instagram, etc. Posting often keeps the companies relevant. I realize this isn't what you asked. Good luck Buddy with your project!

Re: Will be back soon, but..You guys are so helpful I cannot believe it! Thank you very much for the input. This helps my thinking a great deal, and I've been out of touch for awhile; probably obvious. At one time I used "Markup" but haven't in a very long time. Having become lazy I created my WEBsite with Xara. It is not complete yet, but if ya' wanna' look I'll include the link. Your thoughts and comments welcome: http://www.eclecticarbor.com/index.htm

Re: Will be back soon, but..I think you have a good start, the site is kind of "Retro" but maybe that is what you are going for
