Giant Windows 7 roll-up patch takes the headache out of updating a new PC
More than five years of updates for Windows 7 in a single package. It's about time.

For those of us who still use Win7, is this recommended?

If you've keep your Windows 7 system updated, this is unnecessary. This is just a cumulative roll-up. Theoretically, you've already got all the updates applied. Where it will come in handy is when you have to reinstall the OS from scratch as it will save you many hours of repeatedly checking for Windows updates, applying, and rebooting until all the updates have been applied.

My concern is that there are a number of updates therein that Woody has advised Windows users to avoid.

From the time that you enlightened me re Woody's site, at least a year ago, I've been updating strictly according to his advice.

Thanks for confirming me what I suspected, i.e., I can ignore the roll-up.

I turned off automatic updates back then. Thanks for the reminder that I need to check Woody's site to get things up to date. For anyone reading who isn't familiar with Woody's site:

Lately I've read that updating can have a nasty way of installing Win 10 - whether you want it or not.
