Indeo codec

Postby William Tranter » Fri Nov 02, 2007 6:04 pm

I downloaded the 'Explosions' file from the Free Stuff part of Muvipix New Stuff this evening, and when I unzipped the download, there were nine AVIs showing.
However, upon clicking on any one of them, Windows Media Player opens, then I get a message saying that it cannot play the file because a codec is missing.
After much searching, I find that I am missing the Indeo codec (whatefver that is!), so I download Indeo codecs 3.2, 4.5 and 5.11, thinking that this should sort out the problem.
BUT, I still can't run the AVIs.
What can be wrong? What am I doing wrong (it's got to be me, it usually is!)?
Has anyone else encountered this problem as well?
Can anyone help me?
Please?

Hi Bill, I can get them to play with the Indeo Video 5.10 Decompression filter. Not sure where I got it from. Should have thought the 5.11 would have done it.

Hi Bill,
Try installing the KLite Mega Codec Pack
http://www.codecguide.com/

It has been nothing but a huge help to me since I installed an earlier version 2 years ago.
I install the latest version on every computer I buy now.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
