I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but apologies as I couldn't find an exact answer. PE3 and a good pumped up Dell works best with XP, XP Pro, or Vista?? Also there's a deal on 24"monitors. What do people think - maybe dual 19"s or just the one big fella 24"?? Thanks

My opinion - XP Pro (consider changing to Vista once SP1 has been released). For PE3, 2 x 19" (I have PE2 and have 2 x Samsung 940s, so maybe I am biased!!).

Two 19" monitors gets my vote. For one thing, it's a much better value -- and, secondly, it gives you a lot more real estate (the equivalent of a 32" monitor!). Besides, when your friends walk into your room and see those twin 19", they will KNOW you are serious about video editing!

I'd go with the dual screen also. I have a 19" regular and a 22" widescreen, so I'm unbearable to live with. But two 19" screens was great! And I agree with the 'stay with XP' until Vista's worked out the rough edges.

xp pro , no doubt. I have Vista Business sent to me when it shipped when I bought my laptop but am holding off loading it until the service pack comes out and what people say on it. XP Pro is running like a champ for me so why change? If the lesson from Adobe is taken....if itsn't broke don't change it!!! Look at all the wasted hours at Adobe just on their forum mess these past few weeks. Man...if I ever made that kind of mess up at work I would be either fired or demoted. Second the two monitors. Once you use two you will wonder have you ever got a long with jsut one.
