Importing QT Sorenson Video 3 into iMovie

Postby sonya » Sat Nov 22, 2008 10:05 am

hello,

I am having trouble importing QT Sorenson Video 3 files into iMovie 5 - After some research it seems iMovie is not compatible with this codec. How can i convert these files to DV? Or is there any plugin i can get that will import these files?

Many thanks ::C

I think best bet would be Quicktime Pro, which you can download from Apple for $29.

It converts a number of video file formats -- and could possibly even enable iMovie to handle more MOV codecs.

In any event, it's a great little investment.

It has been awhile since I've used Quicktime Pro but I think you have to export the video.
When you export you have an option to select the format and you can choose DV or many other formats.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Did you enter the registration code? When you purchased the Pro registration code, it should have been sent to you in an email. If the code isn't entered into the Quicktime player properly, the Pro features remain locked. See this page for the Mac: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/unlock-mac_osx.html
