Here comes macOS Sierra

If you're a Mac owner, you may be aware that Apple is going to distribute a new operating system soon, most likely later this fall.

As the name sort of implies, macOS Sierra is technically no longer a part of the OSX line -- although I wouldn't expect a major change to the operating system or the way it works. OSX is a pretty rock solid operating system based on a UNIX kernel, and each generation of OSX has simply refined rather changed the system in a major way.

The biggest challenge with Sierra is that many older Macs (even Intel Macs) will not install it. Most late 2009 or early 2010 Macs should. If your computer hardware is too old, the App Store will simply refuse to install it.

That said, we'd love to hear from people who are running the beta of Sierra or, once it's released, are running the final version. I'm personally curious if it's a major change to the Mac experience or just a new package of refinements and features.
