Free Music by the Thousands: Creative Commons Licensing

Postby George Tyndall » Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:09 am

In another thread

http://www.muvipix.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6757#p60642

whose topic had nothing to do with music, rudympohl mentioned a web site called animoto, which can be used to create and display slide shows.

As I was browsing the site's FAQs

http://animoto.com/help/faq

I noted a discussion of Creative Commons music, including some of the sites where it may be found. This is music that musicians are willing to share without payment. I went to the one of the sites, Jamendo--and found myself AMAZED by the quality of the music that I heard there.

Apart from Jamendo, here are the other sites that are mentioned on the animoto web site: Dmusic, Opsound, Sounclick. For more information, go to http://creativecommons.org/

Thank you Rudy!

Thanks for this.
I contacted them for rights info, and they're free for home movies etc. Good to know.
Cheers,
Tony
