80th Bday music

Postby momoffduty » Sat Nov 28, 2009 4:16 pm

Looking for music for an 80th bday slideshow. Some from the 30's or 40's, songs, instrumentals. A medium pace and upbeat. Think someone suggested awhile back for this age group to have the stills around 7 seconds long, what is a good pace? Will probably have a few titles on the photos so that would slow it down too.

Was thinking about Chuck's 60's pack, what would be some good graphics to have from the 30's & 40's? Thanks.

There's always good old Wikipedia.

And Google's Time/Life photo archive is priceless.

Here is my work in progress, changed the name for privacy issues. The audio is a mono file. Added it in AE & exported as an AVI. In Pro thought I could add audio effects to make it stereo, but no luck. Was thinking that the Fill Left would put it over both speakers. Any ideas? Thanks.

Wow, that's awesome. I'm jealous! Hopefully one day I will be able to master my PE7 like you have. Great work!

Thanks Monica & welcome to Muvipix. It was made in After Effects. You could do something similar in Pre Elements by fading in the images and scale from 0% to 100% and fade out.
Welcome to Muvipix! :meet:

Hi Cheryl, Thanks for the tip. I will definitely give it a try. I've seen the scale down option while mindlessly right clicking on things, but never knew what it did. I'm not entirely new to editing, but I am not that advanced in knowing what I'm doing when editing either. I got Steve's book as a present not too long ago and it's been a confidence booster for me.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :yh:

I posted a reply on another thread about the tutorials here. Really helps jump start the leaning. Feel free to ask any questions, many experienced editors here happy to help. Steve's book is a valuable resource.
