itune songs compatiblility with PreEle12

Postby bobpeg71 » Sat Feb 08, 2014 3:11 pm

I bought songs from itunes for use in my project. they appear in my PCs library and play on my PC. However when I try to add them to my media assets in PreEle12 they do not appear in the library so they are not accessible. Any suggestions? I read some of the previous forum comments and threads re itunes but they did not seem relevant.
Thanks

This is because much of iTunes' music includes digital rights management software that blocks it from being used in a video project.

There are a couple of solutions:
1) Try converting the song to a WAV using the free download Audacity. That may allow you to use it.
2) Buy your music from Amazon.com, which does not have such stringent rights management.

Burn the songs in itunes to a CD as a wav file. Copy the wav file to your hard drive to use in the project.

No need to burn a CD. I just tried this method and worked. After converting, copy & past the file to location on your HD such as the Music folder or your project folder.

Seems that there are several tools out there to do this. I have used Audials for a few years now - it was a lot cheaper when I bought it then:-

I converted the file in iTunes. No 3rd party needed.
