Songs in loving memory of ....

Postby ryan_khoo » Tue Nov 01, 2011 10:41 am

Hi there,

A good buddy of mine has passed away suddenly due to heart attack.

It was totally unexpected since he was so healthy & fit ...

I want to do a video in memory of him.

Any ideas what song I can use besides "Auld Lang Sygn" ?

Thanks

I know folks are always asking about certain types of songs for different occasions .. but I've lost both a Hubby and Father in the past couple years .. and found when doing their videos that it worked best when I found a song that reminded me of them .. nothing to do with "in memory of" type of songs. I just listened to songs (zillions of them) until one struck a chord. For Dad it was a bouncy fun song .. because that's the type of music he liked and it matched his personality. And for Hubby I used a touching song that brought tears when I listened to it.

I know that doesn't specifically answer your question, but might send you in a different direction.

My Dad loved to play guitar and sing, even made a record back in the 50's with his trio.
When I did my Dad's memorial video for the service I used his music. He had lots of tapes and wrote many songs so there was plenty to choose from. So my Dad sang at his own funeral, and it was perfect because that's what he liked more than anything, to sing and play for people :)

I am working on a video now and the songs i am using are
You Raised me Up--Josh Groban
Memories--Elvis
Heaven Was Needing a Hero-- Jo Dee Messina
and if needed
Amazing Grace--Celtic Woman

This is for my hubby who has terminal cancer. He picked out some of the songs. He wants to see it when i finish it. I thought it was better to do it now when i can think clearly than later. :-D
Go out and make it a great day. The choice is yours!
