Flash memory camcorder files

Postby sidd finch » Mon Jul 18, 2011 7:19 pm

Just wondering if there are any models of flashed memory based camcorders that allow you to pause the video and when you resume recording the camcorder keeps adding to the file and not create a new file. I know this is the case with tape based cameras but every flash memory based camera I have come across creates a new file every time the camera is paused. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure that could be possible Sidd. The file would have to remain open and if something were to happen you would lose the file completely. I don't know of any camera that appends to a file rather than creating a new one when you press the pause button.

I haven't used any of them, but there are some freeware and low-priced utilities for joining separate video clips into one contiguous file...
ASRock Z77 Pro4, Xeon E3-1230 V2, Windows 7 64-bit, 32GB RAM, 3GB GTX 660 ti, 240GB SSD for OS/programs, 3x640GB in RAID0 for projects
